Overview
Transform the way people live, work, and connect. This programme inspires you to design interiors that not only respond to today's challenges but imagine a more sustainable and culturally vibrant tomorrow. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and problem-based learning, students explore design as both a creative and critical practice. Balancing conceptual thinking, technical skill, and professional insight, this degree prepares you to design inclusive, sustainable, and transformative interiors for a rapidly evolving world. Year 1 - Foundations in Spatial Design: Develop core skills in drawing, model-making, and spatial experimentation whilst learning in parallel with the BA Architecture students. Explore design at multiple scales through sketching, making, and creative exploration. Year 2 - Exploring Practice: Apply your growing skills across diverse sectors - from retail and commercial spaces to exhibition and event design. Collaborate across disciplines, engage with live projects, and work directly with industry partners to gain real-world experience and professional insight. Year 3 - Independent Design Identity: Tackle complex, research-led design challenges that address social, cultural, heritage, and environmental issues. Define your personal design ethos through an independent major project and graduate with a professional portfolio ready for industry or postgraduate study. This programme is also available with an Arts Foundation Year, which can provide an alternative route of entry onto the full degree programme.
