Terms and Conditions
Last updated 11 October 2026
These terms apply when you use mieconnect.com, our student and partner portals, and the application support services we provide. Please read them carefully. By using our website or services you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
About us
MIE Connect is the trading name of Matrix International Education ("MIE Connect", "we", "us" and "our"). You can contact us at info@mieconnect.com.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your personal information, and our Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies. Both form part of these terms.
Our services
We help students:
- search for courses at universities, colleges and pathway providers;
- receive guidance from a counsellor on courses, institutions and the application process;
- prepare, check and submit applications, and follow them up;
- understand offers and conditions, and prepare for enrolment and their visa application.
We also provide a portal for approved recruitment partners who refer students to us.
Any fees for a service will be agreed with you in writing before we provide it. Institutions charge their own tuition fees, application fees and deposits, which are set by them and paid to them under their own terms. We may receive payment from institutions or pathway providers for the work we do on their behalf. Where this applies, it does not change the tuition fees you pay.
Course and university information
Our course and university information comes from the institutions themselves, from published sources and from our own research. We work hard to keep it accurate and up to date, but courses, entry requirements, fees, intakes, scholarships and other details can change at any time and are decided by each institution.
Fees are shown as a guide, usually for international students for one year, and may not include other costs. Always confirm the details with the institution before you make a decision or a payment. Your counsellor can help you do this.
Guidance and advice
Our counsellors give general guidance to help you make informed choices about your studies. This guidance is not legal, financial or regulated immigration advice. Where you need advice of that kind, we will recommend that you speak to an appropriately qualified and regulated adviser.
Visa decisions are made by the relevant immigration authority. You are responsible for your own visa application and for making sure the information in it is true and complete.
Applications, offers and visas
We will use reasonable care and skill to prepare and submit your applications. However, admissions decisions are made by the institutions, and visa decisions are made by the authorities. We cannot guarantee that you will receive an offer, a place, a scholarship or a visa, or how long a decision will take.
When you ask us to apply for a course on your behalf, you authorise us to share your information and documents with that institution and to correspond with it about your application.
Your account
To use the portal you need an account. You sign in through our group's secure account service. You must:
- give us accurate and complete information and keep it up to date;
- keep your sign in details private and not share your account;
- tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
You are responsible for what happens in your account unless it was caused by our failure to keep it secure.
Your information and documents
Everything you give us, including the documents you upload, must be genuine, accurate and yours to share. Providing false or misleading information or documents can lead to an application being rejected or withdrawn, an offer being cancelled, a visa being refused and, in some cases, legal action.
If we believe that information or documents are not genuine, we may stop working on your application, withdraw it, tell the institution concerned and, where the law requires, inform the relevant authorities.
Recruitment partners
If you use the partner portal, these extra terms apply:
- Your account must be approved by us before you can use it, and we may decline or withdraw approval.
- You must have each student's agreement before you share their information with us, and you must comply with data protection law when you handle it.
- You must describe our services, institutions and courses accurately, and you must not make promises about offers, scholarships or visas.
- You must not charge students fees on our behalf or suggest that you are part of MIE Connect.
- Any commercial arrangement between us will be set out in a separate written agreement, which takes priority over these terms if they conflict.
Using our website
You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You must not:
- break any law or regulation, or use the website for fraud;
- try to gain access to accounts, records or systems that are not yours;
- copy our course information in bulk, or use automated tools to collect it, without our written permission;
- upload anything that contains viruses or harmful code, or that is offensive or infringes anyone's rights;
- send unsolicited advertising or interfere with how the website works.
Intellectual property
We, or our licensors, own the rights in our website, including its design, text, graphics, logos and software. University names, logos and course descriptions belong to the institutions concerned. You may view and print pages for your own personal use, but you may not copy, adapt or publish our content for any other purpose without our written permission.
Links and third party services
Our website links to institutions and other organisations, and some features rely on services provided by others. We are not responsible for the content of other websites or for services we do not control, and a link does not mean we endorse them.
Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if both of us knew it might happen when you started to use our services.
We are not responsible for:
- decisions made by institutions, immigration authorities or other third parties;
- changes made by institutions to courses, fees, entry requirements or intakes;
- loss caused by information or documents you give us that are inaccurate or not genuine;
- business losses, if you use our services for business purposes;
- events outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Suspending or closing accounts
You can stop using our services and ask us to close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account if we reasonably believe it has been used to break these terms, to provide false information or to put other people at risk. Where it is fair to do so, we will tell you first and explain why.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when our services or the law change. The date at the top of the page shows when they were last updated. If a change significantly affects you, we will tell you before it takes effect.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with our service, please email info@mieconnect.com with the details. We will acknowledge your complaint, look into it fairly and reply to you as quickly as we can.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales may hear any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
