Specification: Pearson international GCSE in Global Citizenship The Pearson International GCSE in Global Citizenship is a dynamic and engaging course designed to equip students with a deep understanding of the interconnected world we live in. This course emphasizes the development of critical thinking, empathy, and active participation in global issues, making it highly beneficial for students aiming to become informed and responsible global citizens. By completing this course, students will not only gain valuable knowledge about global challenges but also develop skills in research, analysis, and ethical decision-making, preparing them for future academic endeavours and active, conscientious participation in their communities and the world at large. The qualification focuses on and links together the following four key themes: 1. political change and governance through international relations and systems of regulation 2. economic development through trade and economic growth and adaptation; sustainable development; the sharing of one planet 3. social and cultural development through media and telecommunications; travel and migration 4. technological development and advancements. Our GCSE and IGCSE courses are taught over one academic year, so applicants should have either completed Year 9* or 10 in a UK school (or overseas equivalent) with satisfactory school reference and reports in terms of academic achievement, attendance, punctuality and good conduct.
