For the first time in Bangladesh, NCUK (Northern Consortium of the United Kingdom), a pathway provider that works with universities in many prominent study locations, has uncovered and shown off a new foundation pathway in Bangladesh with MIE Pathways.

This exciting opportunity provides Bangladeshi students with a direct route to study in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand's 50+ prestigious universities.

NCUK's decision to offer its foundation pathway in Bangladesh is a major breakthrough. With limited options for undergraduate study over the last few years, this move provides Bangladeshi students with a clear path to top global universities. This is especially important considering students' challenges in paying for foreign institutions due to concerns over foreign exchange reserves.

By establishing a presence in Bangladesh with MIE Pathways’s study centres located in different places in Dhaka and other cities in Bangladesh who are helping the students who have completed HSC, IB, GCSE, or O level AS/A-level and bachelors with Foundation and Pre-masters degrees.

NCUK is not only expanding access to higher education but also positioning the country as a key market for international universities seeking to diversify their student bodies.

A groundbreaking new institute of higher education is set to open in Dhaka on March 2nd, 2024. In partnership with Matrix International Education, part of the MH Global Group, it will coordinate the application process for students interested in the NCUK pathway. This exciting venture will provide Bangladeshi students with a unique opportunity to pursue their higher education locally while benefiting from global progression pathways.

The centre will combine rigorous academic standards with language training and cultural skills development, ensuring that students are well-prepared to succeed in their chosen degree programs. NCUK qualifications have a proven track record of success, with over 40,000 students progressing to top universities worldwide since 2003.

Students who successfully complete an NCUK qualification will be guaranteed entry to an approved partner university, following the established application and progression timelines.

Stuart Smith, CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of NCUK, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "We are delighted to announce the launch of our first NCUK Study Centre in Bangladesh, in partnership with Matrix International Education."

“This strategic collaboration aligns with our mission to provide high-quality university pathway programmes for international students. Our aim has always been, and remains, to equip students with academic knowledge and the language, study, social and cultural skills they need to excel at university,” Smith explained.

NCUK is committed to expanding education opportunities worldwide and is thrilled to open the first-ever study centre in Bangladesh with this distinguished partner, he added.

Recent statistics by Enroly, a platform specialising in British university admissions, revealed a 15% decline in CAS issuance for Bangladeshi students in 2023. This, coupled with anecdotal evidence of some universities withdrawing from the postgraduate market, has raised concerns about the country's higher education landscape.

Golam Mortuza, CEO of MH Global Group, expressed his pride in bringing the NCUK foundation pathway to his home country. "Our partnership with NCUK is part of a long-term commitment to Bangladesh with our newly formed academic and English services programmes."

"We aim to support opportunities to widen participation for applicants who may previously not have had the same opportunities as we are now able to offer. This centre will form the first of many study centres and is a testament to our long-term commitment to the passion for adventure and travel.
A strong interest in the tourism industry.”
