Buckinghamshire New University lies in the beautiful market town of High Wycombe. BNU has campuses in High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Uxbridge, and Great Missenden. Buckinghamshire New University is packed with more than 22,000 students, of whom more than 3,700 are international students hailing from 130 countries. BNU offers more than 174 undergraduate programmes and 33 postgraduate programmes. Most UG and PG students are based at the main campus in High Wycombe.

History

Buckinghamshire New University was founded in 1891 as the School of Science and Art in High Wycombe, which is in Frogmoor Gardens. In 1920, it was named Wycombe Technical Institute just after World War I. The institute was renamed High Wycombe College of Technology and Art in 1963.

Then again, in 1975, the High Wycombe College of Art and Technology merged with the Newland Park College of Education and became Buckinghamshire College of Higher Education.

In 1999, it was granted university college status and renamed Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College. Finally, in 2007, it was granted university status and became what it is today, the Buckinghamshire New University, which is sometimes referred to as Bucks and BNU.
