History
Leeds Trinity University was established in 1966 as Trinity College for women and All Saints College for men. Both colleges had separate principles. In 1980, both colleges merged and formed Trinity and All Saints College, which had one principle. In 1970, various new divisions were introduced.
In 1991, the Leeds Trinity was designated a college of the University of Leeds. In 2009, the institute gained taught degree-awarding powers and became a university college. In 2012, it was granted university status.
