History

History can be traced back to 1914, when the Central School of Science and Technology was formed by J. A. Pease. In 1926, the institution was renamed the North Staffordshire Technical College. In 1970, North Staffordshire Polytechnic was established by merging Stoke-on-Trent College of Art, North Staffordshire College of Technology, and Staffordshire College of Technology.

In 1988, the institution changed its name to Staffordshire Polytechnic. Finally, in 1992, it was granted its university status and became Staffordshire University.

  2. The nearest train station is Stoke railway station, with easy access to Manchester and Birmingham, which can take 40 to 50 minutes, and to London it might take about 90 minutes.
  3. The closest airports are Manchester, Birmingham, and East Midlands airports, which can take about an hour of travel from the main campus.
  4. In London, Here East has free shuttle buses that will take you to Stratford Westfield Shopping Centre, and by tube, you can get to central London in 6 minutes.
  5. You will find a free shuttle bus in Stafford that operates between Stafford Centre of Healthcare Innovation and Stafford railway station.
