To be a truly effective Mental Health Nurse you need to be empathetic, personable, practical and driven, all with the goal of understanding the person. “LSBU offers a variety of placements in hospital settings, I was enticed by the multi-cultural environment, and the state-of-the-art facilities that they offer” Alexis, Mental Health Nursing student. Thanks to our partnership with NHS Trusts, charity organisations and other centres of excellence, you will spend half your time working in clinical settings, learning from experienced clinicians, nurses and service users. The rest of your time will be spent on campus learning from our expert academics in high-tech clinical labs that simulate the kind of situations you may face as a practicing Mental Health Nurse, these include our Counselling and Communication Suite, SimMan mannequins and practice wards. Our accreditation with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) allows you to officially register as a Mental Health Nurse upon graduation. This accreditation and links with practice partners across London and the UK means that your employability comes first. As well as preparing you for a successful and fulfilling career, our passionate and expert academics will be there to support you at every step of your journey, helping you overcome issues and celebrating your successes with you.
