Overview
This course provides qualified social workers with an opportunity to qualify as a stage two practice educator in accordance with the requirements of the Practice Educator Framework. It will assist you in developing knowledge and skills in designing and planning learning activities required to facilitate the learning of others and developing learning opportunities for students. Please note, in order to be able to independently support and assess social work students in line with the Practice Educator Framework, you must have successfully completed the Developing Practice Educator Skills short course or equivalent prior to undertaking this short course.
Entry requirements
Entry requirements for this course are normally: Be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England. Minimum of two years post qualifying experience and had previous experience of being a practice educator for one student. Act as a practice educator for a Social Work Student alongside the course in order to complete the assessment. Previously completed stage1 Practice Educator course. If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent.
