Overview
The foundation programme is aimed at newly employed General Practice Nurses consisting of one 15 credit module, the RCN accredited cervical cytology course and additional study days.
Entry requirements
Registered nurses who are newly employed as General Practice Nurses. The programme consists of one x 15 (i.e., postgraduate/Level 7) credited module, one Royal College of Nursing (RCN) accredited course, which is the Cervical Cytology course and additional study days. The university induction day will be: Tuesday 6 January 2026 @ 09.30am on site at City St George's, University of London, Northampton Square, London, EC1V 0HB. Programme course dates are as follows: Jan: 6, 21 January 2026 Feb: 10, 12, 16, 18, 24 February 2026 Mar: 5, 18 March 2026 Apr: 10. 15, 17, 24 April 2026 May: 13 May 2026 Further details will be provided about the programme to successful applicants prior to the university induction date, including more information on programme content. Delivered by an academic team of former general practice nurses, the programme offers a unique and insightful perspective on the evolving role of today's General Practice Nurse.
