Overview
This Postgraduate Certificate strengthens nurses’ ability to deliver expert, compassionate and evidence-informed care to older adults, including those living with frailty and multiple co-morbidities. Students explore the physical, psychological and social dimensions of ageing, alongside comprehensive assessment frameworks and tools used to identify frailty and guide best practice. Teaching emphasises early intervention, prevention of deterioration, multidisciplinary collaboration and approaches that support independence and ageing in place. It is suited to nurses across acute, community, primary care, intermediate care and care-home settings who wish to enhance advanced assessment and decision-making in the care of older people.
