This course provides a thorough introduction to the principles and practice of research relevant to health and social care.
Entry requirements
This course has been designed to meet the needs of clinical practitioners across the medical and non-medical workforce, as well as students pursuing qualifications in public health, health policy, advanced clinical practice and health management. Term 1 Monday 28 th of September Monday 5 th, 12 th, 19 th, 26 th of October Monday 9 th, 16 th, 23 rd, 30 th of November 2026 Term 2 Monday 25 th of January Monday 1 st, 8 th, 15 th, 22 nd of February Monday 8 th, 15 th, 22 nd, 29 th of March 2027 Teaching days will include two 3-hour sessions: 10am - 1pm and 2pm - 5pm. The lectures are taught in person but there is a hybrid option to join online. The aim of this course is to enhance your ability to critically appraise and conduct rigorous research and reach sound analytical conclusions. This course may be undertaken as part of the School of Health & Psychological Sciences Masters programmes, or as a CPD course worth 60 CPD hours.
