Entry requirements
This course is aimed at hospital doctors aspiring to apply for a role in a prehospital care system. The course is intended as an introduction to prehospital care, aimed at covering the basics of how to approach patients clinically, an understanding of the prehospital environment, and a background to how prehospital systems work. Course candidates are guided through a broad curriculum covering key topics by an expert faculty of both prehospital doctors and paramedics, with an emphasis on developing clinical and non-technical skills via a wide range of teaching methods, including practical hands on workshops and simulations as well as lectures and small group discussions. The course is ideal for those who want to pursue a career in PHEM, prepare for PHEM applications or qualifications such as the Diploma in Immediate Medical Care.
