Overview
This fully online, 20-credit postgraduate module is designed for healthcare professionals engaged in teaching, supervision, or educational leadership roles who wish to strengthen their understanding and application of leadership and management principles in clinical education. The module explores key theoretical frameworks and models in leadership, management, followership, teamwork, change management, and systems thinking—critically examining how these concepts apply to complex and evolving educational environments. Students will reflect on their personal leadership approaches and develop the tools needed to lead change, manage teams, and influence organisational development in their educational settings. Learning is organised around themed blocks that include interactive eWorkshops, live webinars, and peer discussions. Through a combination of written assignments, collaborative activities, and a reflective leadership analysis, students will evaluate their own leadership practice and produce a change process report relevant to their current or future educational context. This module is ideal for those currently in, or aspiring to, leadership roles in clinical or academic education who wish to advance their effectiveness and confidence in navigating the challenges of managing people, resources, and change in clinical education.
