Modern Languages and Business Studies - BA (Hons)

A Level: ABB including French, German or Spanish with B or 6 in GCSE Mathematics. Where a candidate wishes to study a single language from beginners level and is not studying an A Level in a modern foreign language, a grade B or 6 in any modern foreign language or English language at GCSE is required.

IB: 32 points with Higher Level French or German or Spanish at grade 6 or above. Standard Level Mathematics or Mathematical Studies required at grade 5 if not offered at Higher Level. Where a candidate wishes to study a single language from beginners level and does not have a language at IB Higher Level, a grade 5 in any modern foreign language or English language at IB Standard Level is required.

Scottish: AABBB at Higher Grade, including French, German or Spanish. Combinations of Highers and Advanced Highers accepted. Mathematics required at National 5, minimum grade B (or grade 2 Standard Grade or Intermediate 2 equivalent). Where a candidate wishes to study a single language from beginners level and does not have a language at Higher Grade, then a National 5 grade B (or grade 2 Standard Grade or Intermediate 2 equivalent) in any modern foreign language or English language is required.

Irish Leaving Certificate: H1H2H2H3H3 at Higher Level, including French, German or Spanish at H2. Ordinary Level Mathematics at grade O2 required if not offered at Higher Level. Where a candidate wishes to study a single language from beginners level and does not have a language at Higher Level, then grade O2 in any modern foreign language or English language at Ordinary Level is required.

Access Qualifications: A minimum of 30 level 3 credits at Distinction and 15 level 3 credits at Merit to include at least 6 credits in maths or quantitative methods. Evidence of study in the relevant languages to a suitable level is required.
