Overview
Our Multimedia Journalism degree gets you ready for the exciting world of journalism and all its different outputs. You will learn about TV News, radio, podcasting and social media. In an industry that is evolving against an ever-changing society and technological progression this course builds the skills you need to succeed in a competitive industry: from the hands-on, practical and creative activities in video and audio production to a detailed understanding of the broadcast industry in the context of journalism. You will have focused sessions on writing for a range of outputs, including investigative journalism; and you’ll learn about a range of journalism and media texts and genres, as well as politics, media law and ethics. The course has been developed in close consultation with journalism and broadcast professionals to make sure we cover what employers are looking for across TV, radio and online journalism, from news tweets and research articles to directing TV features and presenting your own radio shows. On this course, you’ll get hands-on with our impressive facilities, including TV and radio studios, professional cameras, editing software and more. You’ll learn from lecturers and working journalists to build an impressive portfolio of skills and journalistic knowledge. Multimedia Journalism is so much more than just writing, TV and radio it is about telling engaging human stories via a range of broadcast and online channels.
