Overview

The accredited NEBOSH National Diploma delivered by Northumbria University is ideal for managers, supervisors and staff from all career backgrounds that want to take their health and safety knowledge to the next level, building directly upon the foundation of knowledge provided by the NEBOSH National General Certificate. It is designed to provide students with the expertise required to undertake a career based around health and safety and also provides a sound basis for progression to postgraduate study. Holders can potentially expect exciting new career and promotion opportunities across a wide range of industrial, commercial and public sector organisations. From our many years of experience of delivering NEBOSH courses we recognise that some potential delegates are simply not able to attend every week. So, for those who would like a more flexible approach, we have developed a route that allows you to do the main bulk of studying at home, yet still provides extensive tutor support. This Distance Learning course is available to those students who are willing to travel to the Northumbria University campus in Newcastle for the exam and assessment at the end of the course. Each topic has an assignment to be completed by a specified date: these are based on past NEBOSH questions, giving you valuable experience of answering this type of question, as well as providing motivation and structure to your studies. Feedback is provided by the course tutor. We provide additional support in special face-to-face sessions at the University. NEBOSH specifies that a minimum of 468 hours study is required.
