Overview
This Postgraduate Cert develops advanced knowledge & clinical capability in the assessment & management of musculoskeletal conditions, orthopaedic presentations & fracture trauma across the lifespan. Students explore the theoretical and practical foundations of orthopaedic and trauma care, including anatomy, injury patterns, safeguarding, traction, casting, wound care, pain management and rehabilitation. The programme strengthens clinical reasoning, communication, equality- and inclusion-informed practice, and the safe application of key orthopaedic skills within multidisciplinary teams. It is suited to nurses working in orthopaedics, trauma units/ theatres, emergency departments and rehabilitation settings who wish to advance specialist practice and support high-quality musculoskeletal care.
