Entry requirements
You must have a strong academic record at A‑level or equivalent in relevant subjects and hold a solid undergraduate degree (usually at least a 2:2). At least 50% of your degree must be in English; graduates with degrees in Classics who have an A‑level in English Literature are also encouraged to apply, and if your degree is in English Language, you must have a strong pass in A‑level English Literature. You also need GCSEs in Mathematics and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent qualifications—which, if not already achieved, will be a condition of your offer and may require approved equivalency testing. Before starting the programme, you must undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, complete any necessary health and physical capacity checks, and agree to adhere to the University of Birminghams Code of Professional Conduct and Fitness to Practise.
