Given the shift in high school curriculum in the USA, Glasgow Caledonian University is currently reviewing our US undergraduate entry criteria. From September 2023 intake onwards, we will offer more flexibility around the qualifications we ask applicants to submit. As a general guide, we will consider: A minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent and minimum grades in relevant subjects, where required. Where AP has been taken, we generally ask for grade 3 in two AP subjects. Where we require a specific subject at AP grade 3 and AP has not been taken, we will consider honours classes, or equivalent taken in that required subject. We require a copy of your high school transcripts including college or honours level grades. Please send your documents to admissions after you have applied via UCAS. For applicants who have taken standardised tests, we will consider new SAT total score of 1000 or ACT score of 24 - (where a specific subject is required as part of entry criteria then a subject specific AP or honours high school grades will be considered as specified above).

English language

American nationals or individuals who have undertaken degree-level study in America may be exempt from further English language requirements. Further details of Accepted English language qualifications are available for students who would not be exempt from further English language requirements. Students who wish to join a course with a higher English language requirement must provide a SELT result/certificate as evidence of English. Entry requirements for certain courses may differ from those shown above. For further information on entry requirements, please contact us at international@gcu.ac.uk.
