Overview
Explore psychological concepts while keeping your future career in mind Broaden your knowledge with purpose-built laboratories and psychological analysis equipment. Our Psychology BSc (Hons) degree provides a strong foundation for understanding why people think, feel, and act the way they do. This insight is valuable in a range of careers including education, human resources, and marketing. The course will also prepare you to pursue further training for psychology careers including clinical, occupational, educational, health, or forensic psychology. Employability and transferable skills are embedded in the curriculum, enabling you to apply what you have learned to real-world problems. You will benefit from Kingston's well-equipped psychology laboratories, which include EEG, eye-tracking, an observation lab for interviews and behavioural recordings, and specialised cognitive and physiological testing. Our course has been designed to meet the requirements for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society. This will prepare you for postgraduate training on the path to becoming a Chartered Psychologist. You’ll study theories and approaches to the understanding of human behaviour across the core areas of psychology, without limiting your experience to any specific area. In your final year, you will customise your learning, selecting optional modules from a wide offering that includes a work experience module and/or modules that deepen your knowledge in, for example, neuropsychology, child development, occupational psychology, health psychology or forensic psychology.
