Overview
This module focuses on initial assessment and management of traumatic injuries in the emergency department.
Entry requirements
This course is aimed at emergency care professionals, particularly paramedics, nurses and doctors, who have experience in the pre-hospital environment or emergency departments and have completed core emergency care education. It is also suitable for trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) who are engaged in regular supervised practice. Completing this module will enable you to: Deepen your expertise in polytrauma assessment and care Improve your clinical leadership in emergency situations Enhance your ability to critically evaluate trauma protocols and service provision Build confidence in managing complex trauma cases in diverse populations. This short course module is designed to be flexible in allowing you to study and reach your goals at your own pace. Our health CPD courses are credit-bearing modules that may contribute to a University degree or award. As a health care professional, once you've completed this course you could offset 15 credits as part of a postgraduate programme, continuing your study with further modules to make up a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) 60 credits.
