Overview
This Postgraduate Certificate provides a comprehensive and evidence-based exploration of women’s health across the lifespan, from puberty to menopause and beyond. Students develop advanced understanding of biological, endocrinological, psychological and social factors influencing women’s wellbeing, alongside key areas such as contraception, sexually transmitted infections, HIV, gynaecological conditions, bone health, pregnancy loss, infertility and menopause. The programme also examines public health approaches, sexual and reproductive rights, legal and ethical frameworks, safeguarding, domestic and sexual violence, and the emotional and mental health dimensions of women’s healthcare. It is designed for nurses and midwives working across acute, community, primary care and specialist services who wish to advance their capability, leadership and confidence in delivering holistic, person-centred women’s health care.
