BIMM University's history is a dynamic story of growth, acquisition, and adaptation within the contemporary music and performing arts education landscape. It's a history built on the foundations of several institutions, each with its own timeline, culminating in the formation of BIMM University.

Early Foundations (Pre-BIMM University Formation):

1960s/1970s onwards: Many of the individual colleges that now comprise BIMM began as smaller music schools, often specializing in specific instruments or genres. Precise founding dates for some of these are not readily available, but they emerged in response to the growing interest in contemporary music.

1. 1965: Leeds Conservatoire, a significant player in music education in the North of England, is founded. This institution later became part of the BIMM family.
2. 1983: Drumtech, a London-based music school, is founded by Francis Seriau. This school later evolved into Tech Music School and eventually became BIMM London.
3. 1988: Performers College is founded. This established performing arts institution later joins the BIMM group.

The Rise of BIMM:
