Other eligibility requirements A Care Leaver is an adult who has spent time living in the care system, away from their family. This could be with a foster family, in a children’s home or supported housing service, or under another arrangement as agreed by their social worker. Young people usually leave care when they are 18 years old. How does Bradford College Support Care Leavers? Bradford College supports Care Leavers through their education journey. If you are interested in finding out more about what it’s like to study a Higher Education course at Bradford College, we would like to offer you the opportunity to attend a bespoke visit to the College. We would be happy to arrange a visit for you to explore the facilities, speak to the tutors and find out more about the support available. Other eligibility requirements An Estranged Student is a young person who no longer has the support of their family network due to long-term breakdown in relationships and understandings with their guardians, step or adoptive parents and therefore any contact has ceased to exist. You may also be classed as an Estranged Student if your parents are deceased. How does Bradford College Support Estranged Students? Bradford College supports Estranged Students through their education journey. If you are aged 19+ and are studying on a Further Education course, and live in a household with a gross annual income of £48,000 or less, you may be eligible for financial support.

Eligibility

Other eligibility requirements If you are aged 19+ and are studying on a Further Education course, and live in a household with a gross annual income of £48,000 or less, you may be eligible for financial support. You may be able to receive assistance with the cost of travel to and from college in the form of payments. You may also be eligible for course-related costs, and these will be assessed on a case by case basis. If you are aged 20 or over, you may be able to receive support for childcare fees for timetabled hours, up to the cost of £50.00 per day. This provides support for the cost of childcare, nursery deposits and registration fees and more with an OFSTED-registered provider. You must attend your classes to meet the attendance criteria of the bursary. If your attendance drops below 85% you may lose your grant.
