Eligibility

Award description The Studentship is awarded on the basis of scholarly merit in the field of global Spanish studies and the articulation of individual goals for undertaking the PhD. Award value Full-time or part-time UK (home) fees. Please note that although the Studentship provides funding to cover the UK tuition fees, international students are eligible to apply but would need to cover the rest of the tuition fees from alternative sources. Eligibility criteria For students wishing to pursue an MPhil/PhD in Spanish & Latin American Studies Research at King's College London in 2026/27. For students whose research is in the field of the global Spanish studies. Open to residents of all nationalities. To be eligible to apply for the Von Schlippenbach Studentship, you must: have a conditional offer for a Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American Studies Research MPhil/PhD at King's College London, meet the entry requirements for the above programme, pursue research related to global Spanish studies, be legally allowed to study in the United Kingdom (i.e. not restricted from entering the UK or from applying for a study visa). Award conditions The offer of a Studentship is provisional upon the offer holder accepting and enrolling on the Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American Studies Research MPhil/PhD at King’s College London.

Other eligibility requirements Eligibility criteria To be eligible for a Chevening scholarship applicants must: Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory. Commit to returning to your home country for at least two years after your scholarship ends. Have at least two years of work experience (2,800 hours). Eligibility

These awards are open to home and International (including EU) applicants. Applicants must fulfil all of the following requirements: Have applied to one of the full-time postgraduate taught programmes at the IoPPN (please see the full list of eligible courses below), due to commence their programme in September 2026 (please note scholarships cannot be deferred to 2027 or later entry). Your scholarship application will be considered together with your programme application, but you do not need to have received an offer from a programme to apply for a scholarship. Fulfil the relevant academic and English proficiency entry requirements for the postgraduate taught programme, set by King’s College London. As the award provides partial funding only, applicants must be able to confirm that they have/are seeking the means to support any outstanding fees/costs not covered by this scheme i.e., through other funding awards or self-funding. You must not already hold a Master’s, or equivalent postgraduate qualification. Students who already hold a Master’s degree or higher are not eligible for this funding but students who have undertaken prior postgraduate study such as PG Diplomas or PG Certificates or clinical/medical qualifications are eligible.

Once you have applied for your chosen programme, please complete the scholarship application form. Your scholarship application will be considered together with your programme application, but you do not need to have received an offer from a programme to apply for a scholarship. If you are applying to more than one MSc programme, please complete a separate scholarship application form for each programme.
