History

Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) boasts of rich history as it has come to development from many historical organisations, one of them being St. Bartholomew's Hospital began as early as 1123 and also the London Hospital established in 1740.

The foundation of the London Hospital Medical College in 1785 marked the beginning of its race, being the first official medical school in England. In this way, over the 19th and 20th centuries, such institutions as St. Bartholomew's Medical School, Westfield College, and the People's Palace brought on the university's everlasting contribution to academia and community.

In 1934, East London College became Queen Mary College, named in honor of Mary of Teck, wife of King George V. From that time, the College multiplied and amalgamated with other institutions like the Westfield College in 1989 and Bart's and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1995.

In 2000, Queen Mary University of London was founded. Today the university remains a proud member of the Russell Group and continues to offer world-class education and research throughout its many campuses and partnerships beyond the United Kingdom.

Any student who happens to be in the right place and right time would definitely appreciate the food from Borough Market, Brick Lane, and various food markets, from where one gets ready-to-eat meals and snacks at very reasonable prices. Each campus is located around the areas with street food available.

World-Class Shopping Experiences:
