Teesside University is a prestigious public university in England, UK. Founded in 1930, it was initially Constantine Technical College. In 1969, it became a polytechnic institute and achieved university status in 1992.

Teesside University is an esteemed university in England, UK. Its main campus is in central Middlesbrough, which has breathtaking scenery due to its proximity to the seashore and countryside. It is a modern university with a friendly environment. Founded in 1930, it has served academic excellence for over 94 years.

With more than 537 undergraduate courses, 365 postgraduate courses, and numerous generous scholarships, the institution is an excellent place for international students.

It has five faculties: the School of Computing, Engineering, and Digital Technologies; the School of Health and Life Sciences; the School of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Law; the Teesside University Business School; and the MIMA School of Art and Design.

The varsity is home to a massive diverse community. More than 30,000 students from 120 different countries and more than 5,000 international students make it an excellent choice for students.

Students can be involved in different cultures and beliefs. The cost of living is comparatively low in Teesside. From £85 a week, you can have on-campus accommodation with maximum facilities.

History

Teesside University’s history can be traced back to 1930, with the formation of  Constantine Technical College in Middlesbrough, named after Sir William Henry Constantine. Over the years, the university expanded its courses and overall activities, becoming a prime institution in Teesside.

It gained its polytechnic status in 1969, becoming Teesside Polytechnic. In the 80s, the institute elongated its ties with local industries. In 1992, the polytechnic was granted university status, becoming Teesside University.

Campus Facilities

Teesside University provides extensive facilities for its students. For international students, it would be an excellent institute, as Teesside spends a tremendous amount of money on enhancing campus facilities.

It has already invested £270m in its facilities and intends to invest a further £300m in the future.

  1. The BIOS building comprises high-quality labs for microbiology, pharmacy, anatomy, chemistry, food sciences, and earth sciences.
  2. A library that received funding of £7 million includes advanced study spaces, over 500 PCs, and an extensive collection of learning resources, including digital and print media. It also has a new café offering a variety of cuisines and Starbucks coffee.
  3. With an investment of £13.2m, the student life building is committed to extending student services to improve experience and well-being, with ample study spaces and a café/restaurant.
