History

From there, followed in 1874 with the establishment of the Yorkshire College of Science, which broadened the scope of education beyond medicine and into the arts and sciences.
These two, the Leeds School of Medicine and the Yorkshire College of Science, constituted that period of budding beginnings for higher education in Leeds, and this laid them to create a foundation for future development.
