Eligibility

To be eligible for the Alexander McQueen Scholarship students must be: Accepted on the first year of the full-time MA Fashion course at Central Saint Martins, UAL starting in October. Alexander McQueen is a British luxury fashion house founded by designer and UAL alumnus, Lee Alexander McQueen. Since 2014, the partnership between Alexander McQueen and Central Saint Martins has had a tremendous impact on our students, offering six talented students the opportunity to study at a world leading fashion design institution, when they may otherwise not have been able to afford to do so. In 2023, Alexander McQueen decided to renew its support to Central Saint Martins with three new scholarships. These scholarships will help excellent students on the MA Fashion course who come from an economically disadvantaged background and who might otherwise be deterred from studying at Central Saint Martins. The scholarship will be assessed based on financial need and academic merit. It will provide a contribution towards tuition fees, course costs and living expenses for Home students and a contribution to tuition fees only for International students. Applications are welcome from those who are in financial hardship and those who will benefit from postgraduate studies to realise their full potential. For Home students, the scholarship will provide a contribution towards your tuition fees, course costs and living expenses. For International students, the scholarship will provide a contribution towards your tuition fees only. Tuition fees will be paid directly from the award into the University’s Tuition Fees account. Course costs and living expenses payments is for home students only will be paid via BACS in termly instalments for the duration of the course.

Other eligibility requirements To help ensure the BA (Hons) Cordwainers courses remain open to talented students, regardless of their background and economic circumstances, The Worshipful Company of Cordwainers are pleased to provide 2 bursaries of £3,000 each. To be eligible for the Bursaries students must be currently enrolled on 1 of the following London College of Fashion (LCF) courses: BA (Hons) Cordwainers Fashion Bags and Accessories BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear. About LCF is committed to celebrating diversity and creating a supportive, inclusive environment for students. 2 Cordwainers bursaries of £3,000 each provide much needed support to our students particularly those who progress onto our courses through the LCF outreach programme to encourage widening student participation into higher education. This award contributes to tuition fees and is awarded in the third term of the academic year to ensure that they were awarded more fairly, on the basis of merit (e.g., attendance and effort) as well as financial need. These awards are presented strictly based on financial need and eligible students either satisfy the University’s hardship fund criteria (involving thorough financial screening) or come via the Widening Participation route. Our Widening Participation programme takes a leading role in raising awareness amongst young people of the importance of higher education, and of fashion education in particular, to encourage them to identify suitable courses of study. The unit runs a range of programmes within disadvantaged areas focusing on East London. We cannot accept applications for this award - students will be nominated by their tutors based on the criteria above.

It also includes access to mentorship throughout the course and a paid internship opportunity with one of the studios. We offer two Summer Study Abroad Award: two tuition fee waivers for our 3-week courses. To apply for the Summer Study Abroad Award, you must hold an offer for 1 of our 3-week Summer Study Abroad courses. This award is granted for the full duration of the student’s pre-degree and undergraduate studies; the initial award will be made when the student commences their pre-degree study and will continue to be applied automatically when a student progresses from pre-degree to BA-level study, providing the student successfully completes each year. Criteria 1: You must hold an offer to study a full-time (in-person) Foundation or Pre-degree course starting in 2026/27. Criteria 2: You need to qualify for the Overseas category of tuition fee status. Criteria 3: You have achieved, or are predicted to achieve, good grades in your High School qualifications equivalent to minimum: 112 UCAS tariff points/ A Levels at BBC/ IB diploma with 32 points. Recognised international qualifications equivalent to high school completion are also accepted. To check your eligibility, please visit Ecctis or the UCAS tariff calculator. You will need to provide your transcripts as proof of your qualification. If you have not yet received your results, you will need to provide evidence of your predicted grade as part of your application. 2 Study Abroad awards are available to students on Integrated programmes. We are looking for students who will create social media content and blogs of their time with us as a Study Abroad Student. In exchange, you will receive 1 award of £2,000 to your bank account after going through enrolment. Eligibility to apply You must have been accepted onto an Integrated Study Abroad programme at UAL and be enrolled on an undergraduate degree programme outside the UK. The award depends on you successfully enrolling for the course. Our cancellation policy still applies. The award might take up to a couple of months to be received by the awardee.

This scholarship provides a £10,000 tuition fee waiver for a full-time or part-time taught master's course at 1 of UAL's Colleges and Institutes.

Eligibility

Other eligibility requirements Criteria 1: You must hold an offer to study a full-time or part-time taught master's course at one of UAL's Colleges and Institutes starting in 2026/27. Your course must offer either a Grad Dip, M ARCH, MA, MFA, MBA, MRes or MSc qualification and be offered at one of UAL’s Colleges or Institutes. Courses run by UAL Online are not eligible. You are not eligible to apply if you already hold a UK postgraduate taught qualification (or one at an equivalent level) from studies undertaken in the UK. Criteria 2: You need to qualify for the Overseas category of tuition fee status. Criteria 3: You have achieved, or are predicted to achieve, an upper second-class honours degree or above at undergraduate level. Recognised equivalent qualifications are also accepted. You'll need to provide your transcripts as proof of your qualification. If you have not yet received your results, you will need to provide evidence of your predicted grade as part of your application. When you receive your results, you will need to provide further evidence that you have achieved your predicted grade to be granted the award. Eligible students in accommodation with bills included in the rent will be awarded £125, and eligible students in accommodation with additional utility bills will be awarded £250.

Eligibility

Other eligibility requirements Students who are on any further education, undergraduate, graduate diploma, postgraduate or research course can apply for the University Hardship Fund, but you should check the detailed eligibility requirements in the guidance notes before applying. To be eligible for a payment from this fund, students will need to have an annual household income that is below £60,000. Applications will also be considered from students studying a further education course who are not eligible for statutory funding from the 16-18 Bursary and Advanced Learner Loans Bursary. Further education applications will need to meet the eligibility criteria for the University Hardship Fund in order to be considered for funding. All Home undergraduate students will need to have student finance assessment of household income that is below £60,000 to be eligible for payment from these funds and, International and postgraduate students will be required to demonstrate their household income is below this level. If you have not been means-tested, you will not be eligible for consideration for the University Hardship Fund. Postgraduate and research students who are eligible for a student loan from Student Finance, must have taken out the full entitlement in order for your application to be considered. If you have not taken the Student Finance loan, you will not be eligible for consideration for the University Hardship Fund. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have made realistic provision at the start of the course to fund both the course tuition fees and living costs for the duration of the course otherwise you will not be eligible for consideration for the University Hardship Fund. In recognition of rising energy costs, the University Hardship Fund will provide a contribution of £500 to help with fuel cost for students who are in privately rented accommodation.
