Highlights: This foundation year prepares you for degree-level study, developing your subject-specific knowledge of financial accounting, business and management, together with essential academic and IT skills. Our Accounting and Finance degree is accredited by major accountancy bodies, providing graduates with exemptions from some examinations that lead to Chartered status. Taught by former senior accountants and tax managers, teaching is informed by our world-class research in banking risk and regulation, market structure, credit and fintech. Develop skills using industry-standard financial tools including Bloomberg terminals, Stocktrak portfolio simulation and Stata statistical analysis and accountancy software. Course Overview: Our Accounting and Finance with Foundation Year degree provides you with an alternative route into undergraduate study, if for example, you don’t meet the typical entry requirements for our three-year programme. The additional foundation year helps you better prepare for degree-level study, giving you a taste of learning at this higher level. During the foundation year, you’ll develop essential academic and IT skills, such as writing, communication, presentation and how to use digital resources to support your studies and research assignments. Equally important, you will learn how to collaborate and work with others. You will get a taste of studying within a multidisciplinary School, mingling with foundation students from a range of other subjects, including accounting, economics, management and marketing. On successful completion, you will join Year 1 of the BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance programme. Our Accounting and Finance degree focuses on new developments in accounting, corporate finance and financial markets. We'll help you develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to succeed in the dynamic world of multinational companies and international financial markets. On successful completion of the BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance programme, you could be eligible for exemptions from up to nine professional exams, kickstarting your journey to becoming a Chartered Accountant. This exciting opportunity allows you to spend a year working with a self-sourced, professional organisation relevant to your studies.
