Overview
This three-year, part-time master’s course is delivered fully online. Our course has been designed for those who want to build strong skills in teaching mindfulness with confidence and use it in meaningful ways in their work. The course is useful for many areas, including: education healthcare wellbeing community work workplaces This course will give you the tools to teach contemplative approaches in ways that are trauma-sensitive, safe, inclusive, and suited to real-life situations. The course combines: academic learning your own mindfulness practice guided teaching experience You will build skills in: leading groups teaching through reflection and discussion clear communication trauma-sensitive practice teaching mindfulness approaches in complex real-world settings By the end of the course, you will be ready to teach mindfulness in a professional and responsible way.
Entry requirements
An undergraduate or postgraduate degree is normally required. Applications from those with relevant professional, practical, or life experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applications from those who have completed a teacher-led contemplative mindfulness-based course, in which meditation practices are taught over a period of 6-8 weeks. Intensive courses (e.g., over a period of several days) are also accepted. A regular contemplative meditation practice for at least six months before starting the programme. IT requirements: students must have a computer in good working order and access to strong internet connection and the IT skills required to use these systems. We welcome applications from international students, and require a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent).
