Assessment and Management of Service-Users with Eating, Drinking and Swallowing Difficulties

This course provides an innovative, contemporary and holistic-based approach for registered Speech and Language Therapists and Health Care Professionals to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical application of the assessment and management of service users with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.

This course is suitable for SaLT and registered healthcare professionals (including nurses) who work in settings where service users present with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. Entry requirements for this course are normally be a good honours degree (or equivalent study at FHEQ level 6) of a recognised university or comparable institution. We do, however, assess applicants on an individual basis to determine their ability to study at Masters level if they do not have an honours degree/honours level credits. You will need access to 50 hours of work-based learning supported by a clinical educator in a setting where service users present with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum of IELTS 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent.
