Overview
Why study Marketing / Modern Languages at Aberystwyth University? You will gain accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) You will develop an insight into the world of enterprise You will understand the impact of changes in the business environment such as economic events. On successful completion of this degree you can apply for 50% exemption from the professional CIM Diplomas. You will gain knowledge in the following: Digital marketing Social media Changes in the regulatory and legal environment Strategic marketing Business strategies Modern languages and culture. Language development You can study your choice of languages from beginners' or advanced level - choose from French, German, Spanish and Italian. Beginners will follow an intensive course in the first year. You will typically receive 5.5 hours of linguistic and grammar classes per week. The Department of Modern Languages is a relatively small and close-knit department, which means that you will benefit from our unique approach to language development. All of our language tutors are native speakers or experts in the relevant target language. Your year abroad will be spent in a country related to your chosen language. You can choose to study at one of our partnered universities, undertake a paid or unpaid work placement, or a combination of the two. On completion of this degree you will possess: A broad understanding of management and marketing in practice The ability to communicate in your chosen language In-depth knowledge of trade and commerce in the public and private sector A solid grasp in the complexity of management challenges and the combined impact of the economic, financial, human and legal issues that leaders encounter. All of the lecturers in the Department of Modern Languages are qualified to PhD level and are research active specialists in their chosen field. We also employ highly qualified and experienced language tutors, and native-speakers, who will ensure that your learning is of the highest possible quality and who will provide you with constant support through your years of study. Students at the Aberystwyth Business School are taught by lecturers and other teaching staff who are active researchers and expert practitioners in their chosen subject area. Over 75% of full time members of teaching staff are qualified to PhD level. Most are currently research active, meaning that students benefit from being taught ‘new’ knowledge in their chosen field of study as well as recognized literature. The School also employs part-time and full time staff devoted purely to teaching. Many part-time staff combine teaching duties with consultancy and business activities, ensuring that students have access not only to up to date research but the latest applied knowledge.
