Highlights: The MEng Computer Systems Engineering is a four-year integrated master’s degree, also accredited by by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council. For UK students, the MEng is a more cost-effective way to obtain a master’s qualification. Subject to eligibility, you can fund your fourth year study by extending your existing undergraduate student loan. The first three years of the course mirror the BEng Computer Systems Engineering. Optional modules in both your third and fourth year allow you to specialise, broadening your career options on graduation. Large specialist network laboratory with powerful servers and Windows workstations, and high spec computing lab with industry standard computing hardware and software. Our leading academics/researchers are experts in real-time and embedded systems, parallel processing, software engineering, image processing, databases, intelligent systems and object-oriented programming. Course Overview: Accredited by the IET, successful completion of this MEng Computer Systems Engineering sets you on the path to becoming a Chartered Engineer, giving you a master’s-level qualification to help you stand out in the job market. The integrated masters year gives you an opportunity to further develop your technical knowledge and expertise via an advanced team project. You’ll be able to demonstrate to a future employer your proven professional skills in teamwork, project management and self-management. The ability to choose optional modules in the final two years of this four-year degree enables you to specialise and focus your studies, for example, on enterprise design, embedded systems or advanced control systems. Like the BEng, the MEng is accredited as meeting the Engineering Council’s UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC). Graduates with good degree results are automatically eligible to become Associate Members of the IET and full members after gaining industrial experience. IET accreditation is recognised globally as an indicator of quality. This exciting opportunity allows you to spend a year working with a self-sourced, professional organisation relevant to your studies.
