Entry requirements
| A levels | BBB · Subjects: Two subjects from: Chemistry Physics Mathematics Biology Nutrition & Food Science Single Award Life & Health Sciences is acceptable with one subject from Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. DA Life and Health Science is acceptable as two subjects. In the event of a tie, candidates with Chemistry at A level may be given preference |

| BTEC | RQF Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Applied Science. Acceptable optional units 8 - 14, 17 - 22. Ulster will accept BTEC/OCR qualifications in combination with A Levels or other acceptable Level 3 qualifications |
| Irish Leaving Certificate | Grades H3, H3, H3, H3, H3; Five grades at H3 to include at least two subjects from Biology, Chemistry, Home Economics, Maths, Physics. If neither Maths nor Chemistry is achieved at H3, as they are required for prior learning, a minimum grade of H6/O4 is required. The requirement for five H3 grades, including at least two from the specified subjects, must still be met. There may be an opportunity for applicants without Chemistry to meet this requirement by completing an online Ulster University chemistry module in early September. This applies to the September 2026 intake only for Dietetics. Additionally, English must be passed with a minimum grade of H6/O4 |
