Overview
The BA (Hons) Education Top Up allows those with sub-degree qualifications to progress into level 5 degree studies or level 6 (final year) of the BA (Hons) Education Top Up degree programme. It provides a tailored and flexible route to help you develop the professional knowledge, skills, and competencies relevant to your workplace. There is no PSRB or other professional accreditation attached to this educational studies programme. The course is suitable for: Those who already hold existing credits from qualifications such as HNCs/HNDs, other level 4 or both levels 4/5 vocational/technical qualifications, or foundation degrees. Further Education practitioners, who hold level 4 and 5 teaching qualifications as well as those with ENIC verified (or equivalent) overseas qualifications Those who want to demonstrate to employers the capacity for academic, research, organisational, or management skills to enhance their career or open up new career possibilities through graduate studies in education. Accepted qualificationsHigher National Diploma (HND) or Foundation Degree.This course is open for direct entry to Level 5 (the second year of a degree) and Level 6 (the final year of a degree).For credits gained through HE-certificated study:For level 5/Education Top Up year 1 entry - 120 level 4 credits with research knowledge in an appropriate education/training relevant contextFor level 6/Education Top Up year 2 entry - 120 level 4 and 120 level 5 credits in an appropriate education/training relevant context with research knowledge.Mixed credits and/or extensive professional experience in Education, such as Level 5 teaching and learning with a mix of level 4 and 5 credits, a large number of Education based CPDs with smaller credits can be considered for Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)Transcriptual and/or if your professional experience in education is to be taken into account, an official employment details documents are also required for verification purposes.
