Overview
What we will provide Expert teaching delivered through structured intensive blocks at our Birmingham campus, supported by dedicated module tutors and industry-relevant content. You will benefit from regular access to teaching staff and a learning experience designed around the realities of working in the electricity transmission and distribution sector. What you will provide You will need to be in paid employment within the electricity industry, with access to suitable opportunities to complete the work-based learning elements of the programme. A commitment to independent study between teaching blocks is essential, alongside a clear motivation to develop your technical capability and progress your career. Skills we develop You will develop specialist knowledge of the academic fundamentals that underpin electrical power systems, strengthening your understanding of network operation and your day-to-day technical role. Alongside technical capability, the programme develops analytical thinking, professional judgement, project planning, independent learning skills, and the ability to apply theory directly to workplace challenges. Progression opportunities On successful completion, you may be able to progress to the BEng Professional Engineering (Power Systems) or other relevant BEng Professional Engineering pathways delivered via blended distance learning. Many of our graduates progress into more senior roles, including specialist engineering posts with major electricity network operators across the UK.
