Overview
Undertake research that will make a significant impact on strategies to detect, stratify and treat patients with a range of blood cancers on this Haematology and Leukaemia research degree. Haemato-oncology is one of Liverpool’s recognised academic strengths. Focused on therapy failure due to resistance or intolerance, our research in haematology and leukaemia: This research takes a variety of forms: Research topics will be discussed and developed jointly with applicants to align interests and expectations and ensure deliverability in the context of a constantly changing research environment. Potential topics are outlined below. Clinical research projects are undertaken in collaboration with The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust. Health data research projects are undertaken in collaboration with the University’s Institute of Population Health.
Entry requirements
IELTS: 6.5 overall, with no component below 5.5 TOEFL iBT: If you took a TOEFL test on or before 20 January 2026, you’ll need 88 overall, with minimum scores of listening 17, writing 17, reading 17 and speaking 19. If you took a TOEFL test from 21 January 2026 onwards, when a new scoring system was introduced, you’ll need 4.5 overall, with 4 or above in all components. TOEFL Home Edition not accepted.
