Overview
The LLM International Crime, Justice and Security is designed to equip you with advanced knowledge and practical skills in one of the most pressing areas of global law and governance. You will explore critical issues such as international criminal justice, conflict and warfare in law, human rights protection, and the legal frameworks shaping global security. The programme combines academic rigour with practical relevance, preparing you for a career in international legal practice, government, or non-governmental organisations. The Centre for the Study of Law in Theory and Practice (LTAP) at Liverpool John Moores University serves as a dynamic hub of legal research and action, bringing together expertise across key areas such as international law and human rights, comparative public law, and professional legal practice. Through its strong global partnerships, interdisciplinary projects and real-world impact work, LTAP provides the ideal intellectual foundation for the LLM in International Crime, Justice & Security, equipping students to engage critically with issues of crime, harm, accountability, security and law in a deeply interconnected world Please note, optional modules detailed below will only run if there are 10 students or more. The Rice-Jones Trust Scholarship The Rice-Jones Charitable Trust was set by an individual who wanted to benefit postgraduate law students studying in the North West of England. The individual's late husband and father were both lawyers, and this inspired her to help students who show academic promise and a commitment to the legal profession, but who may not necessarily have the financial support to undertake their studies. The Rice-Jones Charitable Trust is registered at the Charity Commission with registration number 1171890. Click here for full details. The Rice-Jones Charitable Trust Scholarship is available to applicants who have accepted a place to study on a postgraduate law course, including but not limited to the Graduate Diploma in Law, the Legal Practice Course, the Solicitors Qualifying Examination, the Bar Professional Training Course or the Master's in Law. The amount offered and purpose for which the Scholarship award is offered is at the absolute discretion of The Rice-Jones Charitable Trust and may vary per individual. A successful applicant may be in receipt of a grant of up to £20,000. Applications must be received before 29 May 2026.
