Overview

This course is aimed at health and social care professionals who are working within a role involving caring for people with long-term conditions. It offers you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of history taking and diagnostic reasoning, self-care strategies, case management/case finding and therapeutic interventions. This inter-professional course provides you with an opportunity to study alongside a diverse range of students from other health professions providing a richness to the course. The course is delivered by means of distance-learning through a range of teaching methods including formal lectures, seminars, small group tutorials, e-learning and case-based tutorials. Assessment involves a variety of formative and summative methods including written case studies and presentations. Your module specification/course handbook will provide full details of the assessment criteria applying to your course. Feedback (usually written) is normally provided on all coursework submissions within three term time weeks – unless the submission was made towards the end of the session in which case feedback would be available on request after the formal publication of results. Feedback on exam performance/final coursework is available on request after the publication of results.
