Overview
Our flexible Neonatal Critical Care course has been developed in line with the National Standards for neonatal Qualified In Specialty (QIS) education (2024) to support neonatal practitioners to develop the knowledge and skills to excel in their field.
Entry requirements
Students must have a relevant United Kingdom Diploma in Higher Education or equivalent award, or 240 credits of which at least 120 credits are at level 5. Students must have a BSc or BSc Hons degree. Students undertaking the award must have a relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or a 60 credit Level 6 award in an appropriate subject area. Applicants with evidence of successfully completed Level 6 study within the preceding 2 years will also be considered. To prevent duplication of study, a student that has previously completed a Level 6 module or award within the last 5 years cannot access the equivalent award at Level 7. Students will require a UK BSc or equivalent. If the student does not have a BSc Degree or equivalent, then they must have 2 years of healthcare experience and recent level 6 study in the past 5 Years. Students wishing to have recognition of prior learning must have either: the BCU post graduate certificate in Neonatal Critical Care, BCU post graduate diploma in Neonatal Critical Care, an external Post Graduate Certificate or postgraduate diploma that can be mapped to appropriate modules on the BCU MSc Neonatal Critical Care in accordance with BCU RPL policy and academic regulations. Or appropriate BCU or external modules that can be mapped to the award in accordance with RPL policy.
