Overview
PGCE Non-Qualified Teacher Status (PGCE Non-QTS) The PGCE Non-QTS is usually undertaken by those who are in training towards QTS or have already obtained QTS through alternative routes. Many of our current PGCE Non-QTS are also completing their Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship (PGTA) or Schools Direct Salaried (SDS) programmes through UEL or an external provider. The PGCE Non-QTS is suitable for applicants in a primary or secondary school setting. This course is self-funded as it is not eligible for government funding. You may request sponsorship from your employer to support you with the course fees. If you are not currently working towards QTS, or do not already hold QTS, you may be interested in several PGCE with QTS options that we offer at UEL instead. These routes are for applicants who are interested in beginning their journeys as teachers and would like to begin working towards a PGCE and QTS. There are several different routes to choose from. Please see below for further information about PGCE with QTS options.
