Overview
On our English PGCE course, you can gain the knowledge and skills to become an inspiring, fully-qualified English teacher. This PGCE in English, which has been recognised as 'outstanding' by Ofsted, will give you the opportunity to explore all aspects of English teaching. You'll work with curriculum in a stimulating and exciting way, covering topics such as: Shakespeare poetry the novel drama, media and multi-modal approaches As you work towards gaining your Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) as an English teacher, you’ll develop the theory and practical techniques to teach English to all secondary school pupils. You'll build on your existing knowledge of English language and literature, through the course's theoretical foundations and practical focus, and learn the most effective methods for helping young people to: become fluent readers and writers improve their vocabulary and use of grammar understand and enjoy English literature explain, listen and debate Your training will also teach
