Pre-sessional English Course Certificate

The Pre-sessional English course helps you to improve your academic English for successful study at an English-speaking university.

To study on campus, you will need a UKVI-approved SELT Certificate issued in the last two years. If the course you would like to progress onto has the following English Language requirements: IELTS 6.0 overall, with: 6.0 Reading 6.0 Writing 5.5 Listening 5.5 Speaking. Duration : 12 weeks Start date(s) : June Study options : Pre-sessional English Level 2 Duration : 12 weeks Start date(s) : June Study options : Pre-sessional English Level 3. Duration : 12 or 6 weeks Start date(s) : June (12-week course) or July (6-week course) Study options : Pre-sessional English Level 3 If the course you would like to progress onto has the following English Language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall, with: 6.0 Reading 6.0 Writing 6.0 Listening 6.0 Speaking. If your current IELTS level is 5.5 (minimum 5.0 in all skills) your course details are: Submit your Application You should submit your Pre-sessional English application on the university website, by clicking Apply Now. When submitting your application, you need to choose the intake you wish to join. Your application will be assessed by the University Admissions team and your offer will state how long your course will take. The normal minimum age for this course is 18. We will admit 17-year-olds on a case-by-case basis if they turn 18 during the academic year in which the course runs. Find out more about the university's policy on the safeguarding of children.
