Overview
This course will cover a wide range of topics including risk assessment: monitoring for self-harm, suicide, relapse and deterioration in mental health, impact of mental health on families, friends and social network. Inter-professional working and collaboration with mental health and social services, use of screening tools such as Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) and trauma screening questionnaire as well as how to manage your own anxieties. In addition, we also explore some elements of mental capacity and decision making as common medications used and their side effects. Registration with either the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
