Coventry University is a prestigious public research university located in Coventry, England, UK. It is the largest university in Coventry, the fourth-largest university in the country, and the fastest-growing university in the UK. It is also a member of the University Alliance mission group.

Extended Overview

Coventry University is an esteemed university in Coventry, England, UK. Founded in 1843, it was initially named Coventry School of Design. From 1970 to 1987, it was named Lanchester Polytechnic; from 1987 to 1992, it was known as Coventry Polytechnic. In 1992, it was granted university status and formed Coventry University.

With more than 304 undergraduate courses, 183 postgraduate courses, and various scholarships, it is an excellent place for international students. The university holds a gold rank in TEF, which indicates that the teaching quality is excellent. They have three annual intakes: September, January, and May.

It is a sweet home to more than 40,000 students hailing from 150 nationalities. More than 10,000 international students make it a wide-diverse community. Students will find others of the same beliefs and culture. Coventry University is a well-ranked university in the UK, among the top 5 student cities in England and the top 10 student cities in England for affordability.

Mission Statement

History

The roots can be traced back to 1843, when the Coventry School of Design was formed. It was later renamed the Coventry School of Art. In the 1950s, it was again renamed College of Art. In 1961, it was renamed the Lanchester College of Technology due to the need for a high level of technical training.

In 1970, the Lanchester College of Technology, College of Art, and the Rugby College of Engineering Technology merged and formed Lanchester Polytechnic. The institute was renamed Coventry Polytechnic in 1987. The institute was granted its university status in 1992 and became Coventry University.

Coventry University is one of the oldest universities in England, and it is well known for its excellent facilities.

  1. A massive library with tonnes of resources and 100 study spaces, including study spaces.
  2. It comprises a Mac suite that includes the latest industry software for digital and creative work.
  3. The institute offers a dedicated student lounge and several social areas.
  4. There are two fashion studios for classes and workshops and a combined photography and visual merchandising studio.
  5. There is a cafe on the ground floor that serves a wide range of food and drinks.
