The Alumni Bursary automatically awards graduates of Loughborough University 10% off the full cost of our master's tuition fees, regardless of their programme or nationality. There is no selection process for this scholarship, as all Loughborough University Alumni are entitled to this award.

Students who think they are eligible should contact the Postgraduate Taught Admissions Office in the first instance to enquire about the scholarship. Evidence will be required that they have been in receipt of the Care Leaver’s Bursary while studying their undergraduate degree.

Below is some important information of which government sponsored students should be aware. It is important to let us know if you are expecting a sponsor to cover the costs of your tuition fees. Loughborough University is delighted to present the Loughborough University Sanctuary Scholarships for entry in October 2025. The scholarship will cover 100% off the course fees for your chosen postgraduate taught course for 1 year (replacing any departmental or other Loughborough University scholarships or bursaries you may already have been awarded) and a stipend to support living costs during your study at Loughborough University. The stipends are as follows: £1,483 per month for courses based in London £1,136 per month for courses based outside of London. Students will be expected to fund their travel and visa costs through other sources. The University will award one undergraduate, and two postgraduate taught scholarships, and the standards required are very high so please make sure you submit a strong application to be considered for this prestigious award. The scholarships are being 100% funded by university funds. Eligibility To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria: Currently holding an offer (conditional or unconditional) for an eligible postgraduate taught programme Show evidence of exceptional academic achievement (normally a first-class honours degree) Is your home located in a region of conflict/war such that their lives or the lives of their family are in danger, or such that they could be forcibly displaced due to persecution. Are you, or your family, at risk of imminent imprisonment, injury, death or persecution? If you are currently in the UK but were to return to your home country, your life or safety would be at much greater risk.

Application deadline is 30 June 2025 The scholarship application procedure is an open competition. Students may only apply for the scholarship after an offer for a place in one of Loughborough University’s Masters programmes has been made. Students who are in possession of an offer (conditional or unconditional) of a place on an undergraduate or postgraduate taught course can apply for the scholarship using the application form. Applications will be initially shortlisted and the final decision on the awards will be made by a selection panel of senior staff of the University.
